Fall

The leaves are mostly gone from the trees all of a sudden. We apparently had a lot of rain last weekend and the creek flooded and re-shaped itself once more. This time a deep hole that was right by the "campsite" has filled in wit hstones and a new hole has appeared further down.

New yarn

I was taken to a nice yarn shop while visiting my friend in VA. I am so excited about the new yarn- soft wool and 100% alpaca. High quality yarn is of course more expensive but it makes all the difference in what you are making! I need to find a supplier closer to home. Since winter is coming on I am making wrist warmers and maybe soon hats. PA is cold!

winter is coming

I feel the chill in the air that says winter is just around the corner. There is so much to do to prepare. We've had a couple frosts already. I am hoping to get a new place set up for my jewelry making. I've been mostly only doing crochet all this year. But I'm goign to try and take my cue from the animals and while they are migrating and stockpiling food, I will be setting up a space where I can work on my arts *inside*. Because .....even though the "experts" at the wolly bear festival claim we will have a mild winter....Pennsylvania winters are cold!

I saw these mushrooms growing and had to run out and take some pictures the other day before work. They just looked so cute growing up in the pine needles.

The place these mushrooms grow in right under a huge white pine tree. There is no where else in the yard they normally grow.

TIME. What does this word mean? I find I am often worried about time...time to do this or that. There never seems to be enough [or I feel like there is too much, like when I am watching the clock at work till I can leave]. But on the other hand, I sometimes lose track of it. I enjoy life most when I loose track of time. I try to practice living "now". When I really achieve this is am not aware of time passing. But then eventually things must be done and obligations met. I wish I had more time to do what I love doing instead of what I must do...
